Due to poor attendance and lack of communication with his national party, Brian Crowley will not be nominated by his party Fianna Fail in the next European elections and he officially stood down on 17 January. Crowley was also heavily criticised for leaving the ALDE group to join the ECR and Fianna Fail MEPs would be likely to return to ALDE or whatever centre group replaces it.
