The TS-LKD party have agreed their list with two newcomers to the EP heading the list.

Nr 1 Liudas Mažylis: reputed scientist and professor at the Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University.

 Political activity : 1990-1995 deputy of Kaunas city council; Member of the Lithuanian Christian Democratic Party since 1995 (member of the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats Party since 2008); member of the party’s managing board in 1998 – 1999 and 2005 – 2006.

He was was born into the famous pre-war Kaunas family of intellectuals’ . Great–grandfather on mother’s side is Jonas Bliūdžius – book smuggler of Marijampolė region and public figure. His grandfather on father’s side – interwar Lithuania’s developer of the midwifery system Pranas Mažylis. Wife – Aldona, daughter – Liucija. Hobbies – collector of the antique postcards, a fan of Kaunas basketball team “Žalgiris“.

Nr 2 Andrius Kubilius: was Prime Minister of Lithuania from 1999 to 2000 and again from 2008 to 2012. He was also a leader of the conservative political party Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats. He is also a candidate to be Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

Kubilius became a member of the pro-independence Sąjūdis movement, who favoured separation from the Soviet Union. He later became the Executive Secretary of the Sąjūdis Council. Soon after the re-establishment of Lithuania’s independence, Kubilius was elected to the Seimas (parliament). Since then Kubilius has been an active figure in Lithuanian politics. He became a member of the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats in 1993.

The sitting MEP Laima Andrikiené is currently  6th on the list but this could still be revised.

Algirdas Saudargas will not stand again.

Ms Ingrida Šimonytė (bio here ) will be TS-LKD party’s (EPP member) candidate for the Presidential elections in May 2019. She won the party’s internal elections against  Vygaudas Ušackas.
